Raspberry Rice Pudding Popsicles

Its finally feeling like summer, and this little treat was perfect after a day in the sun. The rice pudding doesn't really feel cold to bite into, so my sensitive teeth had no problem eating it. M made another version of this treat, but instead of raspberries she used chopped pineapples and shredded coconut. It was like a frozen Pina Colada, and it was awesome! Our freezer always seems to have these kickin around in it...

Summer Dress

Hey it's M. Been doing a bit of sewing lately and here is my recent project. Viola Sweetheart Dress found at Violette Field Threads. The pattern and step by step instructions (including photos, very very important in my books) were easy to follow and definitely a dress I'd make again. That is one thing I love about pdf patterns- you can print them again and again! I had a few questions regarding seam allowances and Jessica and Ericka, the ladies of Violette Field Threads answered them quickly and I was back to sewing right away. I'm pretty sure I could find some more little girls that could appreciate this girly summer dress.....stay tuned!

(I added the lace trimming to the design)

Chocolate, peanut butter, and marshmallow pudding cookies

Sorry, my keyboard fritzed out from the waterfall of drool flowing out of my mouth. Now that I've got my keyboard working, I can tell you how amazingly delicious, and probably unhealthy, these little morsels are. I've come to terms with my eating unhealthy because, hey, desserts are meant to be sweet and unhealthy. I've tried desserts with reduced sugar, or NO sugar if you can believe it, and its not the same. In fact, sometimes its nasty. Give these a try, though, and you will not be disappointed! They come out of the oven very soft and gooey, and make for a wicked side to vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmmm.....

I love creamsicles.... in a COOKIE!

Ya, they are awesome! Its not a sugar overload like creamsicles are, so don't you worry. Surprisingly enough, they reminded M and I of Christmas. Can't really put our fingers on it, but it does. This recipe was awesome, so definitely give it a try. They don't feel like your regular old chocolate chip cookie, where you eat two and then punish yourself by going on a 10 K run. They are so light and orangey that you eat 3 or 4 and you find yourself going back for another. Then again, that is probably not a good thing, so maybe the 10 K rule still applies. After all, they are cookies!

What's in a name?

My wife and I were getting ready to go to the beach with our two daughters this last Saturday. I was asked to put some sunscreen on our oldest, and when I approached her with a palm full of the summer-smelling lotion she immediately started telling me a CRAZY story about putting on "sunscream". I stopped for a second and listened carefully for her to say it again, just to confirm that I heard it right. Yep, there it was again, SUNSCREAM. I laughed out loud, sort of confusing little "S" (my blog nickname for our oldest), and told "M" (my wifes nickname) what I had heard. Little did I know [Stranger Than Fiction] that S also calls pinecones, "pinecorns". We got talking about pinecorns and sunscream, and I mentioned making a blog by that name. My wife jumped on board with the idea, so this is the ultimate duo, team effort blog, filled with my wife's baking and sewing projects. And it gives me a chance to practice my photography! I'm also a HUGE movie fan, so while reading you may come across a link to a movie if I mention something that reminds me of a line or plot-line from one of my favorite films. Oh, by the way, our youngest daughter, born in January, will be known as "N" from her on out.
